Culture Night Adventure

I had been planning to go on the Street Art Culture Night Walk, however, an hour before I left the house to go into town, I saw a notification that said that the event was sold out. This was news to me, as I had not realised that you needed to book a ticket to attend this event. I had a twenty minute email conversation with a very helpful member of staff from Culture Night. I was bitterly disappointed to not be able to attend this walk.

However, I ended up going to Culture Night anyway, I attended the Darkroom.ie Exhibition, on which I have a a separate post.I have posted previously about the Darkroom, Mella and Louis. During Culture Night, the Darkroom was giving free photogram workshops.

If you want to get in touch with Mella or Louis, please go to http://www.darkroom.ie.

Then I attended Damn Fine Print and tried my hand at Screen Printing. The print with blue spots is the one that I made (naturally, I managed to get paint on myself!).

If you want to try any of their workshops or other events, please get in contact with http://www.damnfineprint.com.

After this I went towards Dublin Castle and City Hall, but, there was no parking, so I moved to Stephens Green carpark and then went to the Freemason Lodge on Molesworth Street. This was my first visit to this address and I found it to be an interesting tour. Although the queue was long, it moved quickly. I have a separate post on this part of my evening.

RCSI had cancelled their laser show, so I didn’t get to witness that.

I look forward to next year, when I will plan my evening better. In order to get the best out of Culture Night, you need to do some research as to what events are available. The Culture  Night Website is helpful in this regard, but, I will treble check what events I need to book tickets for.

If you wish to check the Culture Night site for next year, please go to http://www.culturenight.ie.

If you went to a Culture Night event around the Country, I would love to hear about it.
